Currently translating a manual on how to make a handpump. Background research takes ages but gives great feeling of learning something new.

@lucypepper Good to hear from you. Real life is getting in the way of my virtual self. Maybe I should outsource the overworked part.

Street art pwns gallery

After a disappointing visit to the National Gallery of Jamaica (the best pieces are overseas), I was chuffed to see this beautiful mural of Augustus Pablo on the wall of Shaggy’s Big Yard studio on Slipe Road, downtown Kingston.

Augustus Pablo mural - Click for larger image
Artist: Philip A… Henry

Music to match: Augustus Pablo’s classic King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown, mixed by King Tubby, with Pablo on his trademark melodica and the brothers Barrett on bass and drums (or maybe Robbie Shakespeare on bass).

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Sure it’s an oldie (1976), but I’d still take it on my desert island.
