I spent eight months living in the Dutch Antilles. I made the mistake of moving there on December 27. The crumbling infrastructure of the Antilles combined with the endless explosions really did make me think once or twice that the island was going to catch fire under the endless assault of Dutch tourists and their vuurwerken.
